Rezoning for Transit-Oriented Development along the LYNX Silver Line

Rezoning may take place at a later stage to ensure properties along the corridor are zoned consistently with the type and form of development envisioned for the station areas.
The ongoing planning efforts will establish the vision for areas around the stations. Zoning or rezoning properties implements that vision for each station area. You can learn more about rezoning for different communities at the links below:​

Previous events: Setting the Stage for TOD in Small and Big Cities
This session was held on May 20, 2021 to explore how regional partners and stakeholders can work together to leverage transit to support community goals. This session covered transit-oriented development (TOD) policies, regulations and other tools communities can use to proactively manage change arising from transit and TOD investments.

This session was held on May 27, 2021, to inform attendees how equitable transit-oriented development (eTOD) enables all people, regardless of income, race, ethnicity, age, gender, or ability, to experience the benefits of dense, mixed-use, and pedestrian-oriented development near transit.

Previous events: Vitrual Community Meeting
On Tuesday, June 22 at 5:30 p.m., the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) hosted a virtual community meeting to present on the LYNX Silver Line transit-oriented development and station area planning efforts. and opportunities to participate in upcoming station area planning workshops in July. The project team and a panelist of partners also took questions from more than 90 participants
